Supercharger & Managing Director
With 15 years of experience across content investment, amplification & commercialisation Simon launched ai love in 2017 to ‘Empower Storytellers’ by helping them to build and recognise value.
To do this Nichols has assembled a team and capital that is based on the theory of #OceansNineteen (We have both Ocean’s Eight and Ocean’s Eleven!). Individually the team bring an exciting skillset but when applied collectively Ai love provides a serious competitive advantage for our partners through providing the tools required to find & ignite the next big global IP.
Prior to Ai Love, Simon joined WPP in 2012 to launch & lead the new content financing arm, GroupM Entertainment for the Asia Pacific region. Nichols innovated alternative financing models with strategic partners and built a team that delivered 4000 hours of content over a 5 year period across Asia. The team bought to life successful adaptions of hit formats including Masterchef and Got Talent in South East Asia through to number one hits in China and Indonesia across Reality TV and Drama.
In previous roles at London-based rights house iD Distribution, prod-co Theatre Red and cab-sat channel AFC, Nichols gained experience across the four corners of the broadcast sphere – rights commercialisation, content production, broadcast and investment – and has been fortunate to be mentored by some of the best industry leaders.
In 2016 Simon was recognised in the 40 under 40 in Media in Asia by Campaign magazine.
